Another project I’m working on is to plot Point to Point data on a map. Using Andrew Whitten’s blog post, I was able to create a Sharepoint Web Part that calls a List with location data and plot that on a Bing Map.
My list has Point A Latitude, Point A Longitude, Point B Latitude and Point B Longitude columns. These are called thru the REST interface and placed on a map via Javascript/Jquery.
I have included the source here. I also added code allowing a Title and Description for location pop-ups.
This won’t work “out of the box” for you because everything is hardcoded. But it should be enough to help anyone needing to do the same. This was built in Visual Studio 2010.
