As a professional actor, Gary Wheeler has worked in commercials, corporate training videos, national television and feature films. He’s been a member of the Screen Actors Guild for 25 years. Some of his roles have included a conspiring admiral in the movie G.I. Jane and Dr. Mudd in the TNT film, The Day Lincoln Was Shot. Gary also plays a theatre manager in John Waters' Cecil B. Demented. He's appeared on the HBO's The Wire and CBS-TV's Hack and NBC's Homicide: Life on the Street. His commercial resume includes spots for Folgers Coffee, Bob’s Big Boy Restaurants, AT&T, BGE and University of Maryland Health Systems.

Gary has a BA from UMBC where he graduated magna cum laude and an MA from Towson University. His stage roles have included Henry II in The Lion in Winter, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey, Andy in Love Letters, Jake in Jake's Women and Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls. As Managing Director of the Actors Company Theatre, Gary has produced all of A.C.T.’s shows. His directorial resume includes Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite, the female version of The Odd Couple, and many of their murder mysteries.

Gary’s professional resume also lists work as a commercial and headshot photographer. He's taught twelve different courses at Anne Arundel Community College, Towson University and the Univeristy of Maryland University College. Some of the courses include Speech, Understanding Movies, Photojournalism in a Digital Age, Film and American Culture, and both Studio and Field Video Production. He previously served on the Board of Directors for The Actors' Center in Alexandria, VA.

JOHN STRAWBRIDGE is one of the founding directors of Actors Company Theatre, for which he has directed projects including "Jake's Women", "Steel Magnolias", "Love Letters", "On Golden Pond", Later Life”, “War of the Worlds” and "Harvey".

John directed the inaugural production of the Actors’ Center play reading series, “Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean”

He has also directed projects for Pasadena Theatre Company ("I Hate Hamlet", "California Suite") and for The Little Theatre of Alexandria ("Hot l Baltimore", "The Odd Couple"), for which he was twice nominated for Best Director.

He is the Creative Director of Campanile Media, which provides writing, directing, and consulting services. Current and recent projects include; custom monologues and coaching for actors, consulting Direction for local theatre, editing a childrens’ book project, consulting work on two independent features in development, and a start-up business providing training for corporate communications.

As a Film/Video Director, John directed CONVERGENCE for Zero Point Productions, and functioned as 2nd Unit Director for ONE-EYED HORSE.

As an associate Casting Director with Pat Moran + Associates, he worked on casting the HBO’s, The Wire, as well as the East Coast casting for the films SYRIANA, WEDDING CRASHERS, and SUPERMAN RETURNS.

For five seasons, he was Associate Casting Director on NBC's Homicide: Life on the Street, which received 3 Emmy nominations and one Emmy Award for casting.

Other films include RED DRAGON, TUCK EVERLASTING, WASHINGTON SQUARE, ABSOLUTE POWER, ENEMY OF THE STATE and HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Other television includes HBO's Something the Lord Made (which received both an Emmy Nomination and an Artios Award for casting), HBO's Shot in the Heart, The WB's Young Americans, NBC's Joey, and pilots for HBO, ABC, NBC, Fox and Disney.

He has worked with a broad range of directors including Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Brett Ratner, Martin Campbell, Peter Medak, Agnieszka Holland, Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Stephan Gaghan and Betty Thomas.

He is the Artistic Director of The Education and Entertainment Foundation 501(c)(3), providing Creative consulting, Writing, and Design work.

He is an educator, active in classes and seminars for professional actors, such as workshops for the SAG Conservatory series, The Actors’ Center, The Modeling Institute, and others. He is a frequent panelist for discussion workshops, including recent panels for ITVA, The Actors Center’s DC Actors Expo and Women in Film & Video. In July, John will be conducting an all-day workshop for the Smithsonian.

At the college level, he has been an adjunct Faculty member at Baltimore Co. Community College and Villa Julie College, and been a guest lecturer at UMBC, Howard Community College, and Towson State University.
 
John’s Acting credits include roles in One-Eyed Horse, The Lion in Winter, and various industrial and commercial shoots.

In the past, John worked with the MD State Film Commission.

John is a recipient of the Actors' Center 2001 Theatre Distinction Award.

Wayne Shipley is retired from Andover/North County High Schools in Anne Arundel County, Maryland where he served as English department chairperson and drama coach. At North County he directed Lil' Abner, Oklahoma, Into the Woods, City of Angels, and West Side Story, often collaborating with musical director Neil Ewachiw. His non-musical efforts at the school include Plaza Suite, M*A*S*H, To Kill a Mockingbird, The World's Worse High School Play, Up the Down Staircase, and Never Mind What Happened, How Did It End? Ten years ago, Mr. Shipley, along with John Strawbridge and founder Gary Wheeler, formed Actors Company Theatre, where he directed The Fantasticks, Man of La Mancha and The Lion in Winter and tech directed On Golden Pond. Most recently he directed Seussical the Musical for ACT. He has also worked for Merely Players' directing their production of Into the Woods.

Venturing into the world of independent filmmaking, Wayne has worked production crew and appeared in Terror in the Tropics for Midnight Marquee and the Death of Poe for Redfield Arts. He also was associate producer with Zero Point Productions on their debut project Convergence.

He also has performed as a background actor in Liberty Heights, Species II, Runaway Bride, Pecker and Cecil B. Demented.

Wayne also frequently provides technical direction for Pasadena Theater Company including their productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Dracula and It’s a Wonderful Life. Mr. Shipley is the former Executive Director of The Chesapeake Arts Center and serves on the Board of the Cultural Arts Foundation of Anne Arundel County and the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

Wayne is a past president of the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.
