Another project I’m working on is to plot Point to Point data on a map. Using Andrew Whitten’s blog post, I was able to create a Sharepoint Web Part that calls a List with location data and plot that on a Bing Map. My list has Point A Latitude, Point […]
Feature-creep version! I have added an additional list configuration/lookup column called Color. This allows you to specify an alternate icon/color for your push-pins by item. The format of the Color column in your list should be Single Line of Text and in the form of a URL. In the example […]
This is related to the Google Maps web part from an earlier post. I have latitude and longitude columns in a database table. Both are Float datatypes. I needed to build a URL string for the push-pin description box. That would seem straight-forward enough, however, I was receiving an error […]
I needed a way to display an interactive Google Map against a Sharepoint list over SSL. I did a slight modification to Mazin’s great Google Map Web Part on Codeplex. In using Dashboard Designer, I was having problems with the drop-downs for databases and tables when creating datasources. Using ULS Viewer and the Windows Application Event Viewer I was noticing a lot of errors referencing; this implementation is not part of the windows platform fips validated cryptographic algorithms. On the […]
If you have a default SharePoint 2010 setup you would notice that when you go to open a PDF file SharePoint prompts you to save it rather than opening. The cause of this behavior is SharePoint 2010 Browser File Handling. This property is on SharePoint Web Application level and its […]

However, users could Manage Subscriptions from the Item drop-down menu in the Report library. By default, the OOB Permissions […]
